March Newsletter 2014
What a busy month we have had! The children really enjoyed learning Spanish with Gemma and they hope you enjoyed their performance of ‘Buenos Dias’. They were able to try their own home made ‘Sangria’ and learned about Spanish traditions.
The children enjoyed celebrating world book day and dressed up as their favourite characters. We have been exploring each other’s favourite stories, drawing pictures of favourite characters and telling each other stories using our puppet theatre.
We have had lots of parent helpers this month. The children have loved having new faces in the nursery to do arts and crafts with them. The staff would also like to thank the garden helpers for tidying out the cupboard. What a fantastic job!
Registration has now taken place and we will confirm places via letter on the date set out by the local authority. We would like to thank all the returning families for their continued support of the Meadowgreen Preschool.
The consultation process of the proposed opening hours is now finished and I can confirm that the new session time from August 2014 will be : 9.15 to 12.25
We are currently recruiting supply staff to cover absences etc. The new practitioners will be fully qualified and experienced. Most parents will be aware that we have been a staff member down for the past two weeks. Cheryl will continue to be off for the time being. Currently I will be standing in as Blue group key worker and as Annmarie is in full time, she will take sole responsibility of the Yellow group. All practitioners are responsible for children’s profiles, observations and assessment, therefore there has been no negative impact on the children. If you have and concerns regarding staffing please speak to me via email, phone or in person and I will be happy to discuss.
Mother’s Day Tea
We would like to invite all our Mummy’s or Grans to our Mother’s Day tea on Friday 28th March at 10.30. We will have a fun morning of tea/coffee and cakes and the children will be performing some songs and poems for you. Please let us know if you will be joining us so we can confirm numbers.
The Parents forum are hosting this year’s Easter eggstravaganza with Easter egg hunt, competitions and more. Please See Donne (Finn’s Mummy) or Lucy (Harrisons Mummy) if you would like to help out.
The inspection report is now available online on the Education Scotland website or you can pick up a hard copy at reception.
We are always looking for items for our junk modelling: Yoghurt tubs, bottles, cereal boxes etc.
We are always looking for parent helpers to come and join us at nursery. We have a parent helper rota if you would like to volunteer for activities. Do you play an instrument? Good at story reading, Have green fingers for helping us plant? Fancy taking a gym class? Let us know. We would love you to contribute to our planning.
